I have never understood sentiment. I know it's a trait many people have and treasure, but it's a foreign concept to me. I don't even know where my high school yearbooks are! So it may come as no surprise that, as a Sagittarius, my sign's sentimentality lands near the bottom of our rankings. I'm not dead inside — I'm just a Sagittarius.

Cancer, you have a double whammy in your chart when it comes to sentimentality. You're a water sign, which means you're super emotional, and your sign is ruled by the reflective Moon. With these two factors, along with how important hearth and home are to you and your deep nurturing side, it's no surprise at all that you are the zodiac's most sentimental softie.  

You're not far behind Cancer with your sentimentality, Pisces, and depending on what else is in your chart, you could even be more sentimental than some Cancers. You're ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams and visions, and you're an emotional water sign. You also tend to be highly idealistic, which means that you romanticize things from the past that have made you happy. All this adds up to a whole lot of sentimentality. 

Taurus, you're both a fixed sign and an earth sign. You're very centered in the physical world, and change really isn't your forte. Of all the signs, you're probably most likely to have a secret hoard of sentimental items you've stashed away somewhere that you can pull out and sit with to get all the feels. You're also ruled by romantic Venus, which means you're particularly sentimental about matters of love. You remember all the dates, Taurus, and you can't let go of the mementos of the good times you've spent together. 

You may appear impenetrable on the surface (or even a little grouchy), Scorpio, but that just hides your deeply emotional self. You are fiercely loyal and quick to grow attached, and once you're with someone, you're WITH them unless and until they do something to betray you. Then it's truly over. And when it's over, you carry a grudge for a long, long time. Just like sentimentality is holding onto positive feelings by looking at the past, holding a grudge is hanging on to negative feelings by looking backwards. They're the opposite sides of the same coin, and you do both with deep intensity. 

Libra, while you're a cerebral air sign, you're also ruled by the planet Venus. It's the Venus in your sun sign that triggers sentimentality, along with your deeply romantic spirit. You have rose-colored glasses about love and romance, and you're the type to forever treasure all the small things that helped build your love and relationships. 

Leo, you rank the highest of all the fire signs for sentimentality. A lot of this has to do with your fixed element, which makes you fiercely loyal, and your passionate nature, which makes relationships so important to you. So while you're not as sentimental as some higher on this list, you have your own form of sentimentality that shows just how much you treasure your people. 

Virgo, you're one of the most perfectionistic signs of the entire zodiac, but it's that perfectionism that also makes you sentimental. Your desire for perfection extends beyond your life and flows into your relationships, which you'll do anything you can to make the best relationships ever — perfect relationships, even. So when you achieve something that approaches perfection, you want to hang onto that energy, which can make you pragmatically sentimental. But the good thing about you is this: you may have a lot of sentimental items, but they are meticulously organized and stored away.

Capricorn, you're ambitious and hard driving, but that ambition extends to building your family, too. So while you can be a bit of a workaholic, that doesn't mean that you don't treasure the times spent with the people you love most. While you're far from the most sentimental person around, you're not the least either. 

Aries, you're not sentimental all the time, but you are passionate. And it's this fiery passion that can make you feel, if not sentimental, at least a little nostalgic, from time to time. You're not devoid of sentiment, but it's also not a big part of your personality. 

Gemini, you're an intellectual air sign. This means you're more driven by thoughts that emotions, so sentiment isn't a huge part of your life. Sure, you'll feel a little nostalgic from time to time, but you're unlikely to spend a whole lot of energy dwelling on past emotions. 

This brings us to Sagittarius — which, as I mentioned, I am. Notice that Sag isn't at the bottom of the list for sentiment, but there are several things that are more important than the past to a Sagittarius, such as travel and new adventures. Add to that Sag's well-known unwillingness to commit, and it's easy to see why this sun sign is close to the bottom of the list.

Aquaruis, you have so many great qualities! You're a social justice warrior, and the way you think about the world is truly innovative. But all that cerebral energy keeps you focused on the now and the future, and not on the past. So, while you may occasionally have a sentimental moment, for the most part, you're too busy finding ways to change the world to worry about what once was. 

Anyone can be sentimental occasionally, but some zodiac signs are much more likely to enjoy all the feels of sentiment than others. No matter whether you're the most sentimental soul you know or the least, you're exactly who you should be.
